Beautiful Riad! We especially enjoyed feeling right at home with the little pool in the middle and the comfy sofas all around. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the space itself is very calm and peaceful. We were quiet sad to leave so soon but will be definitely back again :)
Rhodes
The riad it’s really nice and warm, makes you wanna stay there for ever ! Aisha and Ali are the best people you can find in Marrakesh ! Don’t think about it guys, anything you need they will help you with the places you have to visit too. Just loved everything about this riad xxx
It could be 3,5 stars for rating. The staff was perfect and helpful, we felt their hospitality! We had a lovely welkome traditional sweets and of course mint tea. The breakfast was poor, for 65€ per night we were expecting more. So yes, it is expensive. We had the room on ground floor, where everyone has breakfast. The noise is annoying, is like these people are in your room. There is lovely terrace, but not any view. Good mattress, hard pillows, 20' walking from Medina.

My stay at Riad Picolina was such a pleasant. The riad was beautiful, with traditional Moroccan atmosphere. The room was very well decorated. The staffs were all super friendly and helpful. And compared to the price you pay to stay here, it was simply a bargain. The only drawback I have is the difficulty finding the place; though on a hindsight, that made it interesting I guess.
Lisbon
The riad may be a little difficult to find at first, the taxi will drop you off and from there you might want to accept the help of one of the boys who offer to take you (expecting a small payment). Once you're there it's very easy to find your way back to the main road and return to the riad. The location can seem intimidating at first, as the streets are very narrow, but we always felt safe, even getting back at night (we were 2 girls). It's at walking distance from the main square, but far from the chaos and noise, which is great. The staff are very nice and friendly, Mustafa showed us the important locations on the map after offering us mint tea upon our arrival, and was always available to help with doubts or arranging activities/transfers.We had a traditional dinner at the riad, which I definitely recommend. The breakfast was also very good, including bread, coffee, eggs, jam, fresh orange juice and something similar to pancakes (which was really good!).There's a nice terrace and a small pool you can enjoy. Expect to listen to the call for prayer every day, which is always an interesting experience. The bedrooms are nice but there's no bathroom door, which can be awkward if you're traveling with a friend. Expect to hear the other guests from your room, and to be heard outside. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and would definitely go back.

Nice pretty hotel which from the outside looks like the door to someone's house but very pleasant once you step inside. Nice rooms. Very nice and helpful staff, they kindly loaned me a phone charger and arranged my taxi and took me to the main road to catch it at the end of the trip. I booked a couple of their trips also which where good value for money. Nice breakfast Drawbacks are the location, it's only 15 minute walk to the main square, and there is a nice interesting covered food market close by, however the actual area is a little rough and can feel unsafe for a lone traveler. It's located in a maze of tiny lanes which cars cannot get down so you have to walk yourself to find it, as the outside is no nondescript this could be difficult. Local boys will offer to take you but beware they will expect some payment. Also the pool, don't expect to swim in it! It's the size of a foot spa! More of a water feature for the main reception area/breakfast area than anything else (see the photo below). Also would recommend the spa which is close by and owned by the hotel, they do good treatments and very reasonably priced.
Upon our arrival in Marrakech, we had some difficulty adjusting to the loud and hectic streets, especially after getting ripped off by our cab driver (do not pay more than 100 Dirham for the ride from the airport to the city center!) It wasn't easy to find Riad Picolina in a winding side street, but the journey was well worth it. A few knocks on a small, easy-to-miss door in a twisting alley, and you're transported to what feels like another time.We were greeted by a charming host named Hassan, and a beautiful "hotel" that was actually a refurbished, 400 year old home. Our room was comfortable and eccentric, with nice, hot water in the shower, and a cleaning service each day. This riad is small and humble, but still comfortable with great service. Each morning, we wandered downstairs for a cute little breakfast with coffee and juice. Mustpha was also an excellent host, bringing us tea to our room and offering recommendations about Morocco. We always felt safe, and our location was spot on. We were extremely close to Jemaa el fna square as well as basically all other tourist attractions. Hint: there's a shawarma stand basically right outside for 13 DH a piece! If you have a room facing the road, as we did, you'll probably be subject to some noise, including kids playing and cats meowing. The windows don't do much against sound. Basically, if you're looking for an experience that feels extremely personal, authentic, and affordable, this is the perfect place. My boyfriend and I are from Norway and the USA (respectively), and we love to travel, but we're also on an extremely tight budget at all times. If you want a 5 star hotel, there are plenty of them nearby. We've had tea at a few of them (highly recommend La Mamounia!) They are wonderful in their own way, but I'd venture to say not as memorable. And if you're a backpacker, person (young or old) with a budget, or just looking for a bid of adventure at the end of a winding road, you've got to try the Riad Picolina.
New York
We booked this relatively last minute and at a very good price, so wasn't expecting much, however was very pleasantly surprised with the entire experience! - The Riad is beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable- We really enjoyed breakfast every morning inside by the pool, as well as getting afternoon sun on the rooftop terrace- Located about a fifteen minute's walk from the main square, but also easy to get outside to the 'new city'- Most of all, the host Mustapha was extremely gracious and helpful! It was nice to have his input and guidance as we were new to Marrakech. While there we also booked a one-day excursion to the Ourika Valley through the Riad. We really enjoyed this trip and thought it was a worthwhile way to spend the day, something different than staying in Marrakech.Overall, great experience, and would definitely recommend to other travellers. (However, do note that it's not easy to find and Google Maps doesn't quite have the location right so take the phone number with you in case you need to call when trying to find it!).
Midwoud
The room and bathroom were a bit small but the service was great. We had a really nice time here. The breakfast was good and the welcomming diner on the roof was romantic. If you needed something you only had to ask and they arranged it for you.
London
Its a nice Riad at about 10 mins walk from the market square. Its a very peaceful Riad and has a lovely terrace which is perfect for dinner. This riad was looked after 2 gentlemen and nothing was too much for them. We were served refreshing mint tea whenever we needed and they were very friendly. We had a fantastic stay and would be more than willing to stay here when we visit Marrakech again.
Manchester
This place was absolutely perfect and Yasin, the owner, was a dream. It's the most picturesque place with amazing breakfasts. The location of the riad is great if you want to see the real non touristy side to Marrakech. The souks are only a 15 minute walk away and getting to the new town is so easy as well. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better place to stay whilst in Marrakech. You're made to feel right at home from the moment you arrive. And the wifi is a great bonus! There's a beautiful roof terrace that we'd spend the evenings on playing cards and drinking Moroccan tea (thanks again Yasin)! The rooms are absolutely to die for, so clean and homely. All of the main attractions are so easy to get to from this riad, it's the perfect base for exploring!I will 100% return to this riad for my next visit to Marrakech. I was really sad to have to leave. Once again, an amazing experience and one I'll never ever forget!
Yes. I liked this one. The place was clean, the host Yasin was friendly and sincere (as far as I could tell). He showed us how to get to places and served our breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was wonderful. They change it every day but this was what we had: Fresh (mandarin) juice, strawberries, banana, some sort of pancake with fig and strawberry confiture and some cheese spread. Fresh coffee with some cinnamon through it, and a cup of milk. Also another bread was served. It all tasted nice and was a great start. Rooms are not really big but have everything you need. Beds are hard but that is kinda normal in Morocco.Wifi is private. Works great but you have to ask for it. Only downside was that it is located in a small alley and that the pool was not completely clean. Apart from that I would definitely recommend it. We paid 20 euro and booked on Booking.com
Manchester
Excellent location with lovely and friendly staff. The Riad is located within 5 minutes of the main square in the Medina. Staff were very helpful and gave advice on local attractions and amenities. Rooms are very clean although the bed was quite hard. Overall the accommodation was excellent and definitely somewhere we will come back to.
Location is very good. 15-20 min walk to Medina. They also offer a ride from the airport at a similar price as other taxis which is convenient. The breakfast is nice and traditional. Although there are some issues with the timing of the breakfast as sometimes they cook a bit later. They also serve traditional food for dinner and I think the good ones are the lamb and their aubergines. The room was different. We chose to stay in a riad because we want to immerse ourselves in the culture. The room is secure and the bed was good for us. The only unusual thing is that the shower and toilet don't have any doors. It is an open area but located in the corner for some privacy. So take this in mind if you are staying with friends. There is a rooftop where you could smoke or just relax and listen to the surroundings. The small pool is not meant for swimming. I think it is meant for soaking your feet if you want to chill but I haven't seen anyone soak themselves there. All rooms are laid out in a square so you could see rooms across through the window but still feel that there is some privacy. They also offer some excursions. Due to limited time, we only went for a one day trip to the falls. It was a very nice place but quite a journey. We had a tour guide who walked and it was a hike so wear a very good grip shoes. We had a raft ride and a lovely lunch in the falls. Definitely get the traditional tagine as it was the best one I tasted since I arrived there. Do know that the tour guide may ask for some compulsory "tip" at the end of the day.
We had a double booking at Riad Dalia and were transferred here. Best mess up ever! :-) Youssef is really helpful and does his very best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms are tiny and basic, but very clean and pretty. Service is great. We had a diner the first night: delicious! Breakfast is also very very good. Don't be fooled by the "pool" as only your feet will fit in there ;-)
Nottinghamshire
I paid about 16 pounds per night for this riad and I think it was the best 16 pounds I spent all holiday.the room was very nicely traditionally decorated and very clean and comfortable. the windows were coloured glass which when the light from the skylight came through gave a very warming and comforting glow. the location was great - you have to walk a minute or two away from the main street which allowed for the riad to be completely quiet, this meant you could have a much needed break from the hustle and bustle of the busy markets and streets if you needed it.the rooftop also is a little haven to escape and relax and at night you can relax on the comfy loungers and just look up to the stars.though the best thing about riad picolina was the staff - Youssef was always so friendly and helpful and a genuine guy. at the end of my 5 nights he was more of a friend than just the manager. the maid also was such a nice person, always asking me how I was and smiling. I would totally recommend staying here - it is one of those places that feels like home.
Stocksfield
Youssef the manager was very friendly and welcoming. Our stay of three nights was very pleasant and inside the Medina, the Riad was very easy to find once you had worked your way out of the souks! We enjoyed supper one evening and the chicken tagine with lemons was very tasty. The rooms were adequate, clean and pleasantly decorated and great value for money. At our request, we asked Youssef to get us some wood in order to light up the chimenea one starry evening and enjoyed talking to him and his friend on Morocco and life in general: we talked for hours and really enjoyed their company and learned so much about their country. Thank you for such an enjoyable stay! Romy and Alison
If you want a typical small riad in the real Marrakech - stay here. Beautiful rooms, lovely roof terrace, great breakfast....and the best hosts. The home cooked food is excellent too:) Not for people who want the usual international hotel but we wanted to feel like we were living in the old medina for a few days.
